FORKLIFT COURSE & TICKET OHSCER207A (LF): (HIGH RISK PLANT)

FORMAL & INFORMAL TRAINING & ASSESSMENT COURSE:

The forklift course is a competency-based training program that allows students to complete both the formal and informal requirements of the licence all at Major Training Group’s simulated worksites. Students are required to be trained to a level suitable to achieve all elements necessary of the forklift assessment instrument. The course includes Training, Log Book, Training Plan, Assessment, Manual and Workplace Health & Safety Ticket.

FORKLIFT FORMAL TRAINING ONLY COURSE:

This course is designed for those students whom wish to complete the mandatory informal forklift training on the job or at their current employment. Employers must agree to this and fill in all relevant areas of student’s record book (logbook). Students are required to complete a competency-based 2 days formal forklift training course that covers areas such as OHS legislative requirements, video presentations and verbal/practical demonstration and instruction of all elements from the training/assessment instrument. This also includes the written exam on completion of formal forklift training.

FORKLIFT ASSESSMENT ONLY: AFTER COMPLETION OF FORMAL TRAINING ONLY (EMPLOYER INVOLVEMENT REQUIRED):

You must be an experienced and competent forklift operator. On completion of formal forklift training, students at their workplace must log hours and tasks performed at work and this must all be signed off by their employer or a representative from that employer whom holds the relevant OHS licence. Once the employer is happy with skill and knowledge level of the student, a final skills assessment can be conducted. The assessment consists of a closed book theory component (completed at formal training) as well as a comprehensive practical test. If assessment only is to be undertaken, a completed student record book (logbook) is required along with a letter from the employer validating the log.

FORKLIFT (RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) APPLICATIONS):

RPL Applications are available through Major Training Group. If you wish to undertake the RPL process at Major a fee will be charged in addition to the assessment cost. Suitable evidence of previous qualifications/licences will be required along with supporting verification such as letters from employers, training package requirements of previous courses and more.
