Certificate IV Occupational Health & Safety

The national harmonisations of Australian Workplace Health & Safety laws began in 2008 and are to be implemented by the end of 2011.

This means that the current QLD ‘WHSO’ qualification will become extinct.

  • Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety. (BSBOHS41407)
    The Cert IV is the appropriate course for Individuals who wish to expand their OH&S knowledge.
    Whilst not compulsory, Workplace health and Safety Representatives are entitled to complete
    this course of training.
    Consisting of a 5 day classroom based delivery followed by approx 50-60 hours of after class
    assessments to be completed, students will be able to reference required legislation, consult with workers and employers on safety issues and prepare health and safety reports.
    This course can be completed as a traineeship.

  • Workplace health and Safety Representative Course (WHSQ-HSR-NCB01)
    This course is for people who have been elected as their workplace Health and SafetyRepresentative and provides a 5 day class room based delivery in the relevant duties of the position and introduction to the appropriate Legislation.

Course requirements

  • Be able to read and write Basic English (Workplace Health & Safety Requirement).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age (Workplace Health & Safety Requirement).
  • Provide two forms of identification.
