A course or single lessons

Option 1 - Lessons by the Hour

This method is totally flexible and based on your individual circumstances. You can book lessons over a few weeks leading to your test at times that suit you.

Timeframe1:

Lessons 1 or more hours at a time As many lessons as YOU need Commence now, tests 4-6 weeks

LESSON TIMES:

Lessons are available from Monday to Saturday between 7:00am and 5:00pm in winter and 6:00am and 5:00pm in summer

Includes:

Lessons by the hour – pay as you go or prepay
Workbook/student study book
Qld Transport Booking Fee – paid on or before first lesson
Practical test with Qld Transport – 3 hours in total
including warm-up, test and licence application using our
truck with a Qld Transport Assessor.

Option 2 - 3 Day Course

This is an all-in-one package we have developed with our experience in how much training most people require to be test ready.

Timeframe:

8 Hours in total including drive time and practical test Booked 3 days consecutively Bookings approx 4-6 weeks in advance

COURSE TIMES:

Courses are available from Monday to Saturday between 7:00am and 5:00pm in winter and 6:00am and 5:00pm in summer

Includes:

8 hours of drive time in total
Qld Transport Booking Fee
Workbook/student study book
Practical Assessment with Qld Transport – including
warm-up, test and licence application using our truck with
a Qld Transport Assessor

We recommend this as the best option to get your licence

Major will make all bookings for lessons and tests on your behalf.

Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test:

You are required to complete your written knowledge test prior to commencing training.

Queensland Transport’s practice road rules test is the easiest way to practice for your test. Click Here to practice your theory/knowledge test.

Heavy Vehicle Knowledge test consists of 10 questions; you are required to pass a minimum of 8 out of 10 to gain your Heavy Vehicle learners.

What do I need for this licence?

Hold an open or provisional class C or LR licence or equivalent for 12 continuous months or more
Successfully pass a Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test and Eyesight test with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. (TMR charges a $20.10 fee for this service).
Pay a Test Booking fee ($47.15) to the Department of Transport and Main Roads. (We recommend that you pay this fee when you do your Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test.)
