DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide initial basic Health and Safety education as a preparatory program prior to entry to a building and construction workplace. This program provides construction industry and other personnel with the skills and knowledge required to implement basic Health and Safety in the workplace.
This course is compatible with all current legislative requirements and has been formulated in accordance with AQTF standards for undertaking course accreditation function.
Participants will acquire knowledge of the following areas:

Appropriate legislative requirements and responsibilities
- Basic concepts of Workplace Health & Safety plans and work method statements
- Physical building and construction hazards
- Basic risk management including hazard assessment, risk and control
- The hierarchy of controls

Emergency procedures
This course is intended to provide an introductory understanding and knowledge needed to commence or continue work in the building and construction industry.
TARGET POPULATION:
New and existing building and construction industry participants and other personnel wishing to attain a Blue Card.
COURSE DATES & TIMES:
Courses are available at our Yatala & Morayfield campus each week.
Yatala - Every Wednesday from 8am
Morayfield - Every Tuesday from 8am
Weekend courses are run monthly and we are also able to deliver training onsite. - Contact office for bookings.
COURSE DURATION:
The course runs for approximately 4-5 hours and includes training and assessment.
FEES:
Bluecard course including ticket and manual is $90.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to read and write Basic English (Workplace Health & Safety Requirement).
- Minimum of 18 years of age (Workplace Health & Safety Requirement).
- Provide two forms of identification.
- Work Clothes, boots and Hat
- Bring a pen please.
